Democracy: Buffet Style
It occurred to me as I was reading about the B.C. teachers voting to return to work, that this was a 'textbook' example of the old cliché: do as I say not as I do.
They respected one mainstay of democracy - the democratic vote - in order to decide whether they would continue to disrespect another mainstay of democracy - the judicial system. Seems a bit ironic to me. Role models indeed.
