Are Bank Charges Excessive?
I thought the banks I deal with charged usurious fees for various types of account activity. You'll be thankful for small mercies after reading this story about how much British banks charge for some 'services'. (Keep in mind that a British pound is worth more than $2.00)
Bank Charges Face Regulation in Britain.
And while I'm on the subject, why do politicians and activist groups in Canada become so self-righteously indignant when the price of gasoline goes up? While it's true that oil company profits are stupendous, at least they reinvest billions of dollars in exploration, research and development. By comparison, bank profits make the oil companies look like pikers and the only thing banks seem to invest in is ever-increasing automation of services in order to cut payroll costs. I'd rather get a paycheque from an oil company than a bank any day. (As a fellow Albertan blogger would say: WTF?)
