Re New Orleans: Ottawa Should Act Immediately
It is absolutely imperative that the Canadian Federal Government not play politics for a single minute with the catastrophe in the United States. It is exactly that - a catastrophe with hundreds of thousands of people in dire need. It's a situation that demands neighbours act accordingly.
There must be no question but that our federal government offer concrete and substantial assistance immediately. Let there be no talk of a trade war.
This is a tragedy of immense proportions which will continue to get much, much worse before it gets better. This is a God-sent opportunity for Ottawa to repair some of the damage that has been done for years to our relations with our greatest friend and neighbour.
Canada has one of the most generous and unrestricted immigration policies anywhere in the world. The least we can do is offer 6 month visas to any of our NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOURS who can stay with relatives living in Canada. Please everyone, let's get this going today. Spread the word anyway you can.
NOTE TO RALPH KLEIN: This is a God-given opportunity for Alberta to directly forge a closer relationship with the US. Show Americans that Alberta cares. Today.
