Pro Ball Players Host Amateurs in T.O. Tonight
Well it's that time of year again when members of Toronto's gay community rediscover their roots. Yes it's Gay Pride week in Toronto. And speaking of roots, it's gay appreciation night at the Toronto Blue Jays baseball game tonight. In their annual paean to the local gay ball fans, the pros will be busy fielding balls and handling their bats with uncommon enthusiasm much to the delight of the partisan crowd. No doubt there'll be much good-natured muscle flexing both on and off the field. All the girls will be shrieking as each batter swings his big bat in the batter's box. Of course it goes without saying that the final score is likely to be well beyond the end of the game.
No word on whether the tag team of Scotty Reid and Scottie Brison will be the honourary bat boys at this joyous occasion, but even they would likely be hard-pressed to cope with the demands of thousands of amateur ball players.

And speaking of sports: Another sporting event which is catching on in the United States is called the Fruitcake Toss. Yes, it is true that such an exciting event is held annually and although it hasn't gone mainstream yet, it's surely just a matter of time before everyone wants to try their hand at ths fascinating spectacle. I've found a story about the Annual Fruitcake Toss right here (but I don't understand why the competitors are holding those large cakes! Probably a warmup for the main event!)
