Murphy Should Fall on His Sword

Excerpted from the Montreal Gazette editorial - June 3rd:

Here's the problem with the Grewal tapes - Tim Murphy is the guy talking on them. And as Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh explains to Conservative MP Gurmant Grewal: "Tim is the chief of staff, it's just like talking to the PM."

That would be the case in any Prime Minister's Office, but it is particularly true of this one. Paul Martin is a notorious micro-manager, who wants to know everything, and insists on being involved in everything.
And the prime minister is far too involved in this story for his own good. In allowing him to become involved in this sleazy conversation, by even bringing his name into it, Murphy has ignored the first rule of the PMO : Protect the king.

Read the complete editorial: Murphy forgot to protect the king

And what about this statement, "Paul Martin is a notorious micro-manager, who wants to know everything, and insists on being involved in everything"? What does that say about his claims to have known nothing while he was Minister of Finance?
